Narra Hardwood

It is called as Bluwota in Vanuatu, Liki in Solomon Islands, Narra, Rosewood, Amboyana and Burmese Rosewood as its trade names, called Narra and Rosewood in English, New Guinea Rosewood in Papua New Guinea, Pinati in Samoa and Santal Rouge Amboine in French.

Its genus name is originated from Pteron in Greek which means wing as well as Karpos, meaning fruit, thus, referring to the winged and flat pods features of its genus.
